MLB Awards Watch: Who's leading each category?

    AL MVP

    Mike Trout
    Preseason: 5/1, Current: 2/5

The young star, doesn't turn 23 until August 7th, is already considered the best player in baseball. Trout is on track to lead the American League in Wins Above Replacement, a measure of a player's total contribution (offense and defense), for the third year in a row. The Angels' center fielder has finished second in the AL MVP voting the last two seasons but has been the favorite to win the award all season.

    AL MVP Odds

    Player Odds
    Mike Trout (LAA) 2/5
    Miguel Cabrera (DET) 7/1
    Jose Abreu (CHW) 10/1

    AL Cy Young

    Felix Hernandez

Clayton Kershaw is widely considered the best pitcher in baseball but one could argue that King Felix is having a better season. Through 165.1 innings the Mariners ace has an ERA of 2.01, best in the American League. Hernandez also set a new MLB record with 14 consecutive starts in which he gave up two or fewer runs in seven innings of work or more.

    NL MVP and Cy Young

The reigning two time Cy Young winner is trying to become just the ninth pitcher to win the award three times. Kershaw is also attempting to become just the third starting pitcher since 1986 to win the MVP, his 1.71 ERA leads all of baseball.

    NL MVP Odds

    Player Odds

05/10/2017 Highlight: With baseball season now into its second month, we can leverage our ResultsFinder tool to profile our season-to-date numbers. MLB sides and totals continue to remain extremely profitable despite a recent run of bad variance to start May. The Predictalator's record of 272-250 on sides and totals this season doesn't look all that impressive, but that's because the simulations have sided with underdogs more often than favorites. Through May 9, the Predictalator has generated $547 for an average $50 bettor. "Normal" or better sides, totals, and run lines (our strongest edges) are 14-10 (+$118) season-to-date.
