The conference championship odds for each of the major conferences in college football gives us insight into which teams are expected to compete to play in the new College Football Playoffs.

Part of the selection criteria is championships won. Florida State (ACC), Oklahoma (Big 12), Ohio State (Big Ten), Oregon (Pac-12), and Alabama (SEC) are the favorites to win their respective conferences and thus have an edge in being selected as one of the best four teams in the country.

College football is wild and preseason polls mean almost nothing. With that in mind, here are the odds for every team in major college football to win their conference.'s 2014 College Football Preview will be available on August 13th.

It is no surprise, defending National Champions, Florida State is a heavy favorite to win the ACC. North Carolina is expected to challenge as the early Coastal Division favorite. Last year's Cinderella, Duke, has just the seventh best odds to win the conference.

    Team Odds
    Florida State 4/11
    Clemson 10/1
    Louisville 10/1
    North Carolina 10/1
    Miami 12/1

    Virginia 66/1
    NC State 100/1
    Boston College 200/1
    Wake Forest 200/1

    Big 12

Oklahoma, after defeating Alabama 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl, is favored to win its Big 12 record 17th conference title (includes division championships). With its high-octane offense, reigning conference champion, Baylor, is the second favorite in the competitive Big 12.

    Team Odds
    Oklahoma 2/3
    Baylor 11/4
    Texas 7/1
    Kansas State 10/1
    Oklahoma State 10/1
    TCU 14/1
    Texas Tech 28/1
    West Virginia 66/1
    Iowa State 100/1
    Kansas 100/1

    Big Ten

Urban Meyer has dominated the Big Ten for the last two years but has little to show for his effort. Two years ago Ohio State's undefeated team was ineligible for the postseason, last year the Buckeyes were defeated in the Big Ten Championship Game. Is this the year Ohio State returns to glory?

    Team Odds
    Ohio State 10/11
    Michigan State 15/4
    Wisconsin 9/2
    Nebraska 11/2
    Michigan 9/1
    Iowa 14/1
    Northwestern 40/1
    Minnesota 66/1
    Indiana 100/1
    Maryland 100/1
    Illinois 200/1
    Rutgers 200/1
    Purdue 300/1

Not a lot of surprises out west as Oregon is once again favored to win the conference. However, UCLA and USC jumped ahead of Stanford despite the Cardinal's recent run of success.

    Team Odds
    Oregon 11/10
    UCLA 11/4
    USC 5/1
    Stanford 6/1
    Arizona State 12/1

    Arizona 25/1
    Oregon State 33/1
    Washington State 50/1
    Utah 66/1
    California 200/1
    Colorado 200/1

Roll Tide. Alabama is a heavy favorite to reclaim the conference championship but there is a second tier (Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia and LSU) gunning to win the SEC title, all but guaranteeing a place in the College Football Playoff.

    Team Odds
    Alabama 7/5
    Auburn 5/1
    South Carolina 5/1
    Georgia 6/1
    LSU 13/2
    Florida 12/1
    Ole Miss 14/1
    Texas A&M 25/1
    Mississippi State 40/1
