MLB Trade Deadline winners plus updated playoff and World Series odds.

The 2014 MLB Trade Deadline was one of the most exciting in recent years. In all, twelve trades occurred involving 19 teams and 38 different players. The over/under for the number of trades on July 31st before the 4 pm MLB Trade Deadline was set at 10.5 per Bovada.lv.

The day was headlined by blockbuster trades including David Price going to the Tigers in a three-team trade, the Athletics swapping Yoenis Cespedes for Jon Lester and last year's World Series participants, St. Louis and Boston, flipping Allen Craig and Joe Kelly for John Lackey.

With all the action at the trade deadline, which deals moved the needle?

    Winners

Oakland - the A's are the most balanced team in all of baseball and rank as the No. 1 team in our Power Rankings. Oakland is our favorite to win the World Series; Billy Beane's club has an 18.4 percent chance to win its first championship since 1989.

Detroit – the Tigers now have the last three AL Cy Young winners – Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander and David Price – in their rotation. Detroit went from the fifth to the third most likely World Series champion.

St. Louis – the Cardinals are battling in the most competitive division in baseball. With the addition of John Lackey, we project the Redbirds to win the NL Central. St. Louis now has a 62.5 percent chance of reaching the playoffs.

    Projected Playoff Teams

American League: Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays. Wild Cards: Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles

National League: Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals. Wild Cards: Milwaukee Brewers and San Francisco Giants.

05/10/2017 Highlight: The NHL Playoffs have featured some very tight lines posted by oddsmakers, which has led to lower volume for the Predictalator. That hasn't let to less profits though. The Predictalator has posted 10 NHL positions (ML, O/U, or PL) in May, going 8-2 (80%) on those positions for a profit of $87. It is rare to find a big edge in the NHL this late in the year, but the Predictalator continues to chip away on small edges to provide solid returns.
