    Bessire: CB Ranks and Projections

    by Paul Bessire, PredictionMachine.com
Last Updated: 5/1/2016 1:00 PM ET
Projections for every ranked cornerback are below. Players are ranked based on PredictionMachine.com's 2016 projected statistics for what each player would be expected to do as a 16 game starter on a totally average NFL team against a completely average NFL schedule. Read more about how rankings and projections are done (also includes 2012 rankings and projections).

Below, we include an impact score (0 - 10 scale) for each player. This score is a relative value based on the projections that can put players in context across positions and draft classes. A score of seven or above can generally outperform a replacement player in the NFL at his position as a rookie; an eight or above can be expected to start adequately and a player with a rating over nine is a unique, standout player who could star.

As a matter of context, at this time last year, using the same process, the top five cornerbacks were Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (8.1), Eric Rowe (8.1), Steven Nelson (8.0), Troy Hill (8.0) and Quinten Rollins (8.0). In other words, there no standout cornerbacks and only five players who projected as potential future starters. This year is very different, including two Top 5 overall prospects.

05/10/2017 Highlight: With baseball season now into its second month, we can leverage our ResultsFinder tool to profile our season-to-date numbers. MLB sides and totals continue to remain extremely profitable despite a recent run of bad variance to start May. The Predictalator's record of 272-250 on sides and totals this season doesn't look all that impressive, but that's because the simulations have sided with underdogs more often than favorites. Through May 9, the Predictalator has generated $547 for an average $50 bettor. "Normal" or better sides, totals, and run lines (our strongest edges) are 14-10 (+$118) season-to-date.
