    Bessire: WR Ranks and Projections

    by Paul Bessire, PredictionMachine.com
Last Updated: 5/1/2016 1:00 PM ET
Projections for every ranked wide receiver are below. Players are ranked based on PredictionMachine.com's 2015 projected statistics for what each player would be expected to do as a 16 game starter on a totally average NFL team against a completely average NFL schedule. Read more about how rankings and projections are done (also includes 2012 rankings and projections).

Below, we include an impact score (0 - 10 scale) for each player. This score is a relative value based on the projections that can put players in context across positions and draft classes. A score of seven or above can generally outperform a replacement player in the NFL at his position as a rookie; an eight or above can be expected to start adequately and a player with a rating over nine is a unique, standout player who could star.

As a matter of context, at this time last year, using the same process, the top five wide receivers had scores of: Amari Cooper (9.3), DeVante Parker (8.7), Nelson Agholor (8.3), Devin Smith (8.3) and Tyler Lockett (8.1). This class lacks a clear star like Cooper, yet still has seven prospects who project to be average or better NFL starters and 24 who are better than replacement players at the position.

06/04/2017 Highlight: With the NHL Stanley Cup Finals nearing its conclusion, we can leverage our ResultsFinder tool to profile our playoffs-to-date numbers. Since the start of May, the Predictalator is an incredible 25-9 (73.5%) on all NHL selections, including money line sides, totals, and puck lines. An average $50 bettor would have profited $242; six times more than the cost of the full NHL Playoffs package.

The NBA Playoffs have featured more ups-and-downs than the NHL postseason; however, totals continue to produce at a solid clip for the Predictalator. Dating back to the beginning of April, the Predictalator has posted a stellar 53-41 (56.4%) record on all playable NBA totals, producing $351 in total profit for a $50 bettor.
