One special guest and two PredictionMachine.com subscribers stand atop the standings of the Prediction Machine Pick ’em contest after going 5-0 vs. the point spread.
Kansas City Chiefs’ reporter Darren Smith (@Sportsradio810) and PM users Jason Ripps and Joseph Vicale all took Cleveland and Baltimore on their way to a perfect week. Smith also picked up wins with the Eagles, 49ers and Cowboys, while Ripps got victories with the Bucs, Rams and Jets, and Vicale went with the Lions, Bucs and Packers.
Former New Orleans Saints’ Pro Bowl Linebacker Keith Mitchell was one of 10 participants to go 4-1, but he’s not satisfied. Mitchell has been working hard this summer on the release of his upcoming book “The Mindfulness Playbook” but it’s not stopped him from having a great Week 1.
“Well I was hoping to be perfect, but the terrible Commanders came up short, not sure why I even took them on that bet,” Mitchell said in the league’s trash talk chat feature.
Jacksonville and Philadelphia were the two most popular selections Week 1 as 16 people in the field landed on each of those two teams.
San Francisco 49ers’ beat writer Grant Cohn joked on Twitter, “I’m psychic” after his 4-1 week. Others who only got one game wrong include Chicago Bears’ content creator DeeksView, Bacon Bets Podcast host Iain MacMillan, OddsShark.com contributor Mitch Bannon, and the Clayton Tribune’s Enoch Autry.
